Life Outside The Box

Time Travel

Time travels so fast in life. There are times when we see the world around us just fly by. There are times when we wish it would go even faster, then there are times when we wish we could just stop it just for one moment and live it forever. I find it amazing that most people want to grow up so fast in life. I see little teens want to be adults. Why? Why would they want to skip 13 to be 18? They would miss out 5 years of living. Of course everyone wants to be 18. Some even want to be 21. Of course everyone has problems in their life. We all have to experience them. It’s possible that they could do some life style changes and solve everything. Enjoy living. Enjoy growing up. Enjoy the world.

Getting older is a hard thing. You soon start to forget those you used to play with on the swing sets. You forget the time you got sand in your eye. You forget about not studying for that spelling bee and get knocked out first round. Somethings are meant to be forgotten in life. We just should never forget who we are. When you get older you have to act more mature. This means you can’t be random. You can’t go outside and just run around flying a kite. You can’t go swing anymore. You can’t go play on the play ground. This is false. You can still be a kid at heart as an adult. If you still enjoy those simple things in life, it will prepare you for the future. When you have kids you will be a great parent to them. You will always be their world, and they will always be yours.

Life is a hard road. This road has its pot holes, but we pave over them. When we hit that red light, we get a green light. Keep pressing on. The road is long, but don’t try to speed to get to the end. It will only make you look back and wonder, what you missed along the way.

Contacts are Cool

I love contacts. I love wearing then non-stop. Though you really aren’t supposed to do that, I do anyway. So far it hasn’t done anything crazy to my eyes. When I take them out once a month, my eyes are like ahhh!!! Maybe that’s why you shouldn’t keep them in there. Who knows. I need to get some new ones. But I have to pay to get a prescription again. Jerks. I hate spending money on things like that. Come on!

  • Easter Excitement

So I woke up this morning at 6:34am because I am on call to work this weekend. Though I probably won’t have any calls today because its Easter. Anyway I am all about going to McDonalds. I go outside get in my car and there is ICE on my windshield. I was like NOO!!! I had wait a few minutes for it to de-ice. I am on my way to enjoy the drive. I hear this TURNING ME ON song on the radio. I’m like come on! BOOTY That was my favorite part of the song hahaha! It was an exciting song. I get to McDonalds and it takes 6 minutes to get my food. I guess I surprised them with 3 DELUXE BREAKFAST THINGS! They must have been like OMG!? Anywho I get my gear and head home. On the radio again is that song TURNING ME ON! I was like no way! True Story.

  • Tennessee Tornadoes

I find it fascinating that one day it will be 45 degrees and the next day it will be 71 degrees and have tornadoes. Today there were at least 5 tornadoes that touched down. The last two weeks I had to go in the hallway at work 3 times (3 different days). It does add some interesting talk at work. There actually were some nice looking tornado pictures. I do get tired of worrying it the storms will hail on my car. That would just make life suck. Just a little. :)

After the storm I was talking to Renee on facebook. She shared her story with me. It was a good one.

I was driving in Spring Hill and my car stops. It won’t start. I see a storm coming in. I wanted to seek shelter. So I got out the car and I saw a house. A 200 year old house. I jumped over a rock wall and it started Hailing. It was hailing on me. I was talking to my mom on the phone and she was freaking out! Then I got to the house and everything was locked. My mom told me to break a window. I did, got inside, and hid under the sink. I was so scared.

  • Life is a funny thing

I find it funny how life is. One minute you are doing one thing, the next minute you are another thing. How do we know what we are going to do next? I know we have schedules, promises, goals we want to achieve, but how do we know it will happen the way we want? Sometimes I like to sit and thing about things. I can think about what  I will be doing in 48 hours from now. Will be sitting here writing a message? Will I be texting someone? No one knows. What if we could see the future. Would it make our lives better? Possibly?

Time seems to go by fast. Even the slow days you stop and think, WOW this day is over. Once it is you will never get that day back ever again. It is sad when you think about it. The past will never return. Sometimes the past is better than the present. We don’t know what the future brings us. We plan for the worst. We hope for the best. Usually we get the middle of both.

I’m not sure where life wants to take me right now. There are so many directions. So many paths to take. I hope I figure it out soon.

We have to admit that we got excited when we saw this poster, but that's only 'cos we thought it was for the dinosaur rock band from the 1970s -- an appropriate object of some good-natured ribbing, if ever there was one -- instead of some baseball team from Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Manufactured by the Dai Nippon Printing Co., this "light emitting poster" is currently on display at the exhibition space of the aforementioned sluggers. Combining an LED backlight for graphics and OLED panels for scrolling text, energy use is sixty percent that of fluorescent light, and the OLEDs have lifetime of 20,000 hours. Expect commercial availability sometime in April 2010, by which time the Eagles should be ready for their next "farewell" tour. [Via OLED Info]

  • Hoverboards? Too complicated, too far out and too expensive. What the world really needs is the Scarpar. Said device is an off-road powerboard that just moved on from the concept stage to engineering. Its creators have thrown together an absolutely sick video (after the break) which showcases all the possibilities, and now all that's left is for those very folks to procure a good bit of venture funding to get things moving. Take it from us, VCers -- hit these guys up, now.

  • This whole global economic crisis, and its resulting massive loss of jobs got us thinking. We here at Engadget didn't want to stand helplessly by, announcing every new round of misery without giving anything back -- so we decided to take the opportunity to spread a little positivity. We'll be handing out a new gadget every day (except for weekends) to lucky readers until we run out of stuff / companies stop sending things. Today we've got a swank Razer Collector's Kit, which includes a Bond-like briefcase, a Razer Mamba gaming mouse and a Carcharias headset (among other Razer-branded goodies). Read the rules below (no skimming -- we're omniscient and can tell when you've skimmed) and get commenting! Hooray for free stuff! Huge thanks to Razer for providing the gear! The rules:
    • Leave a comment below. Any comment will do, but if you want to share your proposal for "fixing" the world economy, that'd be sweet too.
    • You may only enter this specific giveaway once. If you enter this giveaway more than once you'll be automatically disqualified, etc. (Yes, we have robots that thoroughly check to ensure fairness.)
    • If you enter more than once, only activate one comment. This is pretty self explanatory. Just be careful and you'll be fine.
    • Contest is open to anyone in the 50 States, 18 or older! Sorry, we don't make this rule (we hate excluding anyone), so be mad at our lawyers and contest laws if you have to be mad.
    • Winner will be chosen randomly. The winner will receive one (1) Razer Collector's Kit with one Mamba mouse, one Carcharias headset, one nearly bulletproof case and some random Razer schwag. Approximate retail value is $230.
    • If you are chosen, you will be notified by email. Winners must respond within three days of the end of the contest. If you do not respond within that period, another winner will be chosen.
    • Entries can be submitted until Monday, April 8th, at 11:59PM ET. Good luck!
    • Full rules can be found here.

  • While Acer had slides aplenty to tout its new Aspire Timeline series of laptops last night, we were a bit short on actual press shots. All is forgiven however, with Acer's new smooth jazz fusion-infused promo site for the laptop. Not only can you read riveting PR copy on the thing ("Time is your most precious possession, and as with all precious things, you can never have enough") and check out some press shots, but the soundtrack will take you back to the last time you were watching PBS in between programs -- Charlie Rose is on at 11PM, just in case you were wondering. • We've seen plenty of Viliv's S5 tablet PC, but the fine folks of Engadget Chinese have scored some precious unboxing time with the little dude, and it's looking pretty great. The XP-running MID has a 4.8-inch touchscreen, a 60GB hard disk, an Intel Silverthorne-class 1.33GHz Z520 CPU, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 1GB of memory. It's available in Korea now, though it appears to have missed its European / U.S. shipping dates at the end of March -- but we'll let you know when we start seeing these babies hit the streets. They're supposed to be priced at $649 when they do become available in the States. There are a few more shots after the break, but hit the read link for the entire, stunningly awesome set.
